One Agency Select Realty
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy sets out how One Agency Select Realty collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use this website or deal with us.
Who we are
One Agency Select Realty is the trading name of Innov8 Limited, a real estate agency licensed under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 and based in Plimmerton and Porirua, Wellington.
This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you use this website, contact us, or take part in a sale, rental or commercial process with us. It is written in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If a specific process you take part in has its own terms, those terms apply to that process as well.
What information we collect
We only collect information we need, and we collect it directly from you. This may include:
- Your name, email address, phone number and any message you send us through a contact or enquiry form, including appraisal and rental appraisal requests.
- Buyer registration details: preferred areas, property types, budget, minimum features, buying timeframe, finance position, additional requirements, preferred contact method and your consent to matching-property contact.
- Details you give us when you register for or take part in an online offer process for one of our listings, including your offer details and any documents you provide.
- The questions you type into our AI helper chat, so the helper can answer you and so we can review and improve the answers it gives.
- Information you give our salespeople directly at open homes, by phone, by email or in person.
- Testimonials, reviews or feedback you choose to give us, including reviews you post publicly on platforms such as Google or RateMyAgent.
- Basic technical information when you browse the site, such as pages visited and general location, through cookies and similar tools.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiries and provide the services you have asked us for.
- Market and sell or rent properties, including keeping you informed about properties you have shown interest in.
- Run and administer online offer processes, including keeping the seller and our salespeople informed of offers and buyer activity.
- Provide seller reports and updates during a campaign.
- Improve our website and services, and analyse how the site is used.
- Send you marketing communications only where you have agreed to receive them, or where they relate to a property you have enquired about.
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including those under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 and anti-money-laundering rules.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is needed to run our business or the process you are taking part in:
- The salespeople and property manager handling the property you have enquired about, and the seller of that property where relevant to a sale process.
- The provider of our online offers platform, so you can register, view property documents and submit offers. When you register on that platform, that provider's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of it.
- Our service providers who host our website, store our data, deliver our email and keep the site secure — they process information only on our instructions.
- Advertising and listing partners such as Trade Me, NZME and realestate.co.nz, for advertising the properties you have listed with us (vendor and listing information, not general enquiries).
- Anyone you have asked us to share it with, such as your lawyer or financier.
- Authorities, where the law requires or permits it, including the Real Estate Authority.
Online offers
When you use our One Agency offers platform to follow a property or make an offer, your registration details, documents and offers are collected and stored by the platform provider on our behalf and are visible to the marketing agent and the seller.
Your offer amount is never disclosed to other buyers. With the seller's approval, buyers may be shown where their offer ranks against others, but never the amounts or details of other offers.
All activity in an online offer process is date and time stamped, which helps keep the process credible and auditable.
Buyer registration and early opportunities
When you register as a buyer, we save your requirements and consent privately for our team to review. These details are intended for our Agent Hub CRM buyer database, where authorised staff can consider suitable properties, including quiet and preview opportunities before public advertising. If the CRM connection is unavailable, your registration remains securely saved for follow-up rather than being lost.
By agreeing to matching-property contact, you ask our team to contact you about suitable opportunities using your preferred contact method. This is not a subscription to unrelated newsletters. Early access depends on the seller's instructions and availability; registration does not guarantee a match or exclusive access.
You can contact us to change your requirements, withdraw your consent, or request access, correction or deletion of your registration, subject to legal record-keeping obligations.
AI helper chat
Our website offers an AI helper chat that answers general questions about selling, buying and our services using information published on this website. When you use it, we store the questions you type and the answers the helper gives, along with the date and time, so your conversation can continue and so we can review the quality of the answers.
The helper works from our own published website information. It does not know anything about you that you have not typed into the chat, and it is not connected to your enquiries, offers or any of your other information with us.
The helper is automated and its answers are general information, not advice. Details such as what your property is worth, your situation or the costs that would apply to you are confirmed with our team, not by the helper — the helper will point you to a free appraisal or to our contact details when a question needs a personal answer.
Please don't include personal details in the chat that you don't need to, such as full contact details of other people. If you ask us to, we can remove a chat conversation you have had with the helper.
Storage, security and retention
We store personal information with reputable cloud providers and apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, encrypted connections and spam protection on our enquiry forms.
No system is completely secure, and no method of transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be entirely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires us to keep records — for example, agency and transaction records are retained under real estate and anti-money-laundering record-keeping rules.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar tools to make the site work, to remember your preferences and to understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Our enquiry forms include a human-verification check and a hidden field that catches automated spam submissions. Verification data is used only to confirm a submission is genuine.
Third-party websites
Our website links to other websites, including property portals, the Real Estate Authority and Settled.govt.nz. This policy does not cover those websites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask us for the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and in some circumstances to ask us to delete it. You may also opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting us.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when our services or the law change. The current version is always published on this page, and significant changes will be highlighted here.
